P's Chunky Chunk Mix-Soilless

You will receive a quart size bag of the mix. There is no need to add any additives. It is ready to use. You can pot and re-pot with less hassle and less mess.

The mix contains Coco Coir Chips, Bark Mulch, Charcoal, Worm Castings, Perlite, LECA clay balls, and Mycorrhizal Fungi. There are additional ingredients added that plants need, and are specifically-formulated for plants growing in containers to promote growth, protect its roots, prevent root rot, and etc. The benefits of each are as follows:

• Coir improves soil drainage in the bed while also helping to retain moisture in quick-draining soils. Since coir breaks down slowly, much like peat, it creates air pockets in the soil that allow excess moisture to drain away from plant roots. Coconut coir contains few nutrients so it doesn't add to the nutrient quality of the soil.
• Bark mulch reduces water evaporation and increases moisture retention so houseplants require less watering. Serves as insulated shady covering for potting soil, stopping plant roots from overheating during the summer. Mulch also helps insulate roots during winter months.
• Charcoal is naturally anti-microbial, with a great capacity to absorb impurities and other toxins, helping protect soil and roots from harmful and odor-causing bacteria and fungal growth. Perfect for terrariums, cachepots, and other closed planting vessels and suitable for use with all houseplants!
• Perlite improves drainage and aeration, providing more oxygen to plant roots. Perlite also helps reduce soil compaction in clay soils. It is used as a standalone product to germinate seeds, root cuttings, and anchor/support root systems in hydroponic gardening setups.
• Worm Castings the humus in earthworm castings helps increase soil's water retention, improve soil aeration and anchor plant nutrients that would otherwise leach away with water. Castings also feed beneficial soil microorganisms that produce, store and slowly release plant nutrients into your soil to feed plants.
• LECA the clay balls absorb water from the bottom up, yet remain full of oxygen at the same time thanks to all those tiny bubbles of air created when the clay was baked (like an Aero chocolate bar), so roots can take up only what water they need, with less risk of root rot.
• Mycorrhizal Fungi improves the growth and health of Perennials, Annuals, Vegetables, Herbs, Fruits, Lawns, Shrubs, Trees, and Indoor Plants. Mycorrhizal will protect against transplant shock, accelerate mycorrhizal colonization, build the soil food web, greatly increase nutrient and water uptake, and give your plant explosive root growth.

The mix that you get will probably have some moisture in it. This is normal. P-Leaves' recommend that you dry out any mix or substrate before storage so it stays fresh.

Once the mix dries, it can be placed back in the bag in came in and stored in a cool dry location. Leave just an opening in the bag for air to get in.
