Murdannia sp. 'Bright Star'
Murdannia 'Bright Star' is an easy to grow plant in the tradescantia family. With its long silver foliage and tall wispy inflorescence create a beautiful showpiece for any windowsill. It can grow to about 16" tall and can get just as wide but pruning can keep it under control. It does flower on long, thin spikes but the highlight of this unique plant is not so much the flowers as it is the foliage. The leaves of Murdannia loriformis 'Bright Star' have a soft, leathery texture with a wavy edge. The color is green with a light striping down the center.
Basic Care
Provide very bright light, not direct scorching sun.
Water when the top of the soil is dry. It can handle being a little dry, does not like soggy soil. Keep moist.
